Relieve the Burden of End-of-Life Planning

When the administrative tasks, legal hurdles, and emotional challenges of planning a farewell feel overwhelming, I provide compassionate, step-by-step support—so you can focus on honoring a life with dignity.

Understanding Your Challenges

Planning for the end of life can be daunting, especially if you’re new to this territory. Many of my clients share these concerns.

  • Overwhelm & Uncertainty: Endless paperwork, legal requirements, and difficult decisions can leave you feeling paralyzed.
  • Family Dynamics: Potential conflict and scattered communication can intensify the stress during a vulnerable time.
  • Isolation: Without a robust support network—especially if you’re not in the same area—the process can feel even more overwhelming.
  • Emotional Weight: The stigma and fear around discussing death can cause feelings of shame or inaction.

How I Help

You don’t have to do this alone.
I’m here to lighten the burden.

Speaking & Events

I also offer unique, brief lecture-style presentations—think “like a TED talk”—explaining how our culture has become disconnected from death. My talks reconnect you to ancient, sacred practices, explain alternative options you may not know about, and invite you to discuss death and dying in a safe, reflective space. Whether it’s a small “death cafe” over coffee and cake or a 30–45 minute interactive lecture with a Q&A, each session is tailored to spark honest conversation.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: Yes, it is. In 1984 the FTC made a rule that gives Americans freedom of choice and the power to conduct family funerals at home. There are some limitations, regulations and laws to follow but it is possible. You can care for your person just as our ancestors did before the invention of the funeral industry.

A: Neither. I have a commitment with Wash U to donate my body to the school and if for some reason that doesn’t happen( institutions can reject a body for different reasons) then I have already paid to be aquamated by Hughes funeral home.

A: Water cremation is alkaline hydrolysis. The body is broken down into a liquid and you are left with the same material as fire cremation but using less energy and causing less pollution.

A: The law does allow for designated cemetery plots on private property. There are rules and regulations that must be followed pertaining to the environmental impact and upkeep of such burial grounds. Each county has their own set of requirements such as distance from neighboring property lines, distance of water sources and legacy accessibility.

A: Embalming is a way of temporarily preserving a body and it is not dangerous or violent. In some cases it is necessary and other times it’s not needed but it has been the popular choice of Americans for the last 150 years.

A: Eco-friendly, without embalming, biodegradable container, https://www.greenburialcouncil.org/
